{"id":361,"date":"2022-09-30T20:35:10","date_gmt":"2022-09-30T20:35:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mn.arenter.com\/coach2\/?p=361"},"modified":"2022-09-30T20:35:10","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T20:35:10","slug":"belief-without-evidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mn.arenter.com\/coach2\/2022\/09\/30\/belief-without-evidence\/","title":{"rendered":"Belief Without Evidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><b>When you become the master of your mind, you are master of everything.<br \/>\n<\/b><b><em>Ancient Hindu Proverb<\/em><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This ancient Hindu text reminds me of a discussion I was having recently with another coach.\u00a0 We think in terms of pictures.\u00a0 Pictures then trigger emotions.\u00a0 Words that we think, or say aloud, trigger these pictures, which bring about these feelings and emotions.\u00a0 These can be good or bad, it&#8217;s up to you to decide.<\/p>\n<p>The key is we move toward, and become like, that which we think about.\u00a0 \u00a0This is often reinforced with the words that we use and repeat to ourselves 1000s of times per day.\u00a0 \u00a0What is it that we say to ourself?\u00a0 \u00a0What is our self-talk mantra?\u00a0 \u00a0Are we saying positive things that will build us up?\u00a0 Empower us?\u00a0 Or are we saying things that will tear us down.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever noticed something that was right in front of us all along?\u00a0 At the base of our brain is a net-like group of cells called the reticular activating system or RAS for short.\u00a0 This RAS acts as a filter to only allow in signs and sounds and other stimuli that we deem as important.\u00a0 For example, have you every gone out and bought a new red car, and then all of a sudden you notice all the red cars out there on the street?\u00a0 Did they just all of a sudden show up?\u00a0 \u00a0No, of course not.<\/p>\n<p>In order to survive and not be overwhelmed with advertisements and pictures, and sounds and information coming at us, our subconscious mind builds out this sophisticated filter system using the RAS and scotomas.\u00a0 Scotomas\u00a0 are really the blinders that we need to only pay attention to what is important to us.\u00a0 Although scotomas are beneficial bc they allow us to actually get things done, (by limiting what we consciously think about and act upon), they actually cal also limit our growth, b\/c we block out what we don&#8217;t see as valuable.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you didn&#8217;t know that property managers might be a good source of real estate deals, you may not seek them out or reach out to them as a part of your marketing mix.\u00a0 \u00a0Why are property managers valuable?\u00a0 Well, they&#8217;re oftentimes the first ones to know when or if a property is going to be listed.\u00a0 They&#8217;re oftentimes the first to know when or if a property owner dies.\u00a0 They&#8217;re oftentimes the first to know the condition of the property and also the financial condition of the seller, if they &#8220;need cash&#8221;, they&#8217;ll hear about it.\u00a0 \u00a0Agreed?\u00a0 Yes, so now that we understand that property managers are excellent referral partners, set the goal to meet one new property manager per month.\u00a0 Once you set goal, your RAS goes to work.\u00a0 With the act of setting the goal, it triggers an abundant universe to &#8220;allow&#8221; property managers to flow into your life.<\/p>\n<p>Scotomas are beneficial, but they will limit your growth.\u00a0 They are sort of a necessary component to the goal setting and goal achievement system.<\/p>\n<p>Next up:\u00a0 Possibility Thinking,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When you become the master of your mind, you are master of everything.
