This is a scary real-life story that happend to me just last week. \u00a0I’m compelled to share it. \u00a0I’m not sure if our republic will continue to stand firm. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>

\n<\/span>This sad story is\u00a0unfortunately\u00a0true….. \u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>While trying to fill a\u00a0vacancy this month, I received a call from “Tanisha”. \u00a0 Her first question was “do you take Section-8?”\u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Of course”, I said, since I can’t legally base a decision upon that fact alone. \u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“What are your qualifications for renting then?”, she inquired. \u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“We like to see 3x income, so if the rent is $1000, then I’d like to see $3000 in income. \u00a0We’ll take your section 8 voucher into account, for instance if it’s $1000 section 8\u00a0voucher, \u00a0we need to see another $2000 in income,” I explained. \u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Well, I don’t have a job”, she admitted.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Oh?”, I questioned.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“…and haven’t had one for 7 years”, she said.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Hmmm, interesting. \u00a0How do you pay your bills?” I asked.\u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Well, section 8 pays my rent, and oftentimes there’s money left over to pay my\u00a0utilities. \u00a0If not, I’ll ask that the landlord increase the rent to cover the utilities and then section 8 will pay for the entire rent. \u00a0In addition, I get food stamps to pay for groceries”. \u00a0 she explained. \u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Oh, OK. \u00a0Hmmmm, well, how do you pay for a phone?”, I asked, almost wincing at the answer.\u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“I have an Obama phone and it’s paid for”, she said.\u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“OK, how about gas in your car? \u00a0or anything else outside of groceries that food stamps don’t cover?”, I inquired.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Well, I’ll sell my food stamps, and raise money that way”, she proudly\u00a0proclaimed\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Really? \u00a0What do you get for them usually?”, I asked.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“Well, for $100 food voucher, I usually get about $50. \u00a0 In addition, some members of my family will claim my kids on their taxes, and get a child tax credit, and pay me for that,” she said.\u00a0<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“OK”, I said. \u00a0“Just out of\u00a0curiosity, do you like the process? \u00a0Do you like your life? \u00a0Are things going well for you? \u00a0Do you feel like you have everything you need, or do you feel like you’re barely making it and it’s difficult to make ends meet?”<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>“I like it,” she concluded. \u00a0“My kids and I eat pretty well and have just about everything we need.”<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>We got off the phone and I thought to myself that this woman has no\u00a0incentive\u00a0to go get a job, go out and contribute to society. \u00a0She’s certainly not paying taxes because she’s not earning anything. \u00a0All she has become is a drain on society and she likes it. \u00a0She feels as though “as long as someone else is paying for me to live, why should I do anything differently?”<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>Is Tanisha\u00a0in the majority? \u00a0No? \u00a0What happens if\u00a0<\/span>Tanisha<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0people that think like her become the majority? \u00a0 Will the United States continue to flourish? \u00a0Or will it die? \u00a0 I’m very\u00a0concerned\u00a0that the 47% grows to over 50%, because at that point our\u00a0republic\u00a0will become the People’s Republic of Welfare. \u00a0 Is it different in other states? \u00a0 Most of the programs are state run. \u00a0I’m sending this to the\u00a0governor. \u00a0<\/span>
