Benefits of Investing in Land
The Oklahoma Land Rush

"Go West Young Man, Go West!"

Investing in land isn't a new concept.  Investing in land has been popular since the great Land Rush of 1889 when pioneers of this great country staked their claim on a piece of property, given for free so the country could then generate tax revenue.  Land investments can offer a range of benefits, some of which include:
  • Appreciation in value: Over time, land tends to appreciate in value, which can provide a good return on investment for long-term investors.
  • Diversification: Investing in land can provide a hedge against market volatility and diversify your investment portfolio, especially if you already have a significant amount invested in stocks or other assets.
  • Tangible asset: Land is a tangible asset that you can see, touch, and visit, which can provide a sense of security and peace of mind.
  • Potential for development: Land can be developed for residential or commercial purposes, which can provide significant returns on investment for savvy investors.
  • Tax benefits: Land investors may be eligible for tax deductions on expenses related to owning and maintaining the property, as well as depreciation deductions for income-generating properties.
  • Long-term income: Land can also generate income through activities such as leasing, farming, and mineral rights, providing a steady stream of passive income for investors.
  • No building inspections or tenants.  These are some of my favorite reasons to invest in land.  Tenants are always an emotional investment.
Overall, investing in land can be a smart way to diversify your portfolio and potentially generate long-term returns. However, as with any investment, it's important to do your due diligence and carefully evaluate the risks and potential rewards before making any decisions.
